Malibu, California | Saturday – Sunday, September 19-20, 2026 | The Zuma Distance, Olympic Distance, Kids Triathlon, Corporate Challenge

The world-renowned and recognized Zuma Beach Triathlon will be held in Malibu on September 19 and 20. Participants will have the opportunity to swim alongside dolphins in the crystal-clear waters of Zuma Beach, bike the legendary Malibu coastline, run past the dramatic cliffs of Point Dume, and experience the iconic setting of Malibu as they achieve their goals at the Zuma Beach Triathlon.

Participants of all ages and experience levels are welcome, with a variety of courses offered: the Zuma Distance, the Olympic Distance, and the Kids Triathlon. The Zuma Distance includes a ½ mile swim, 16 mile bike ride, and 4 mile run. The Olympic Distance is a more advanced event, with a 1.5K swim, 40K bike ride, and a 10K run. The Kids Triathlon is for kids ages 9 to 14, and features a 100-yard swim, 3-mile bike ride, and ½ mile run.

The Zuma Beach Triathlon also offers the Challenged Athletes Foundation Corporate Challenge, presented by Pepperdine University. This challenge takes the same course as the Zuma Distance, with a fundraising element. The fundraising minimum is $250 per person, with extra perks unlocked at $350 and $500.

Zuma Beach in Malibu is the home of the original triathlon corporate challenge, raising over $20 million for multiple causes including the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and now the Challenged Athletes Foundation. The race will welcome notable celebrities and recognizable faces, a cornerstone of the triathlon in Malibu, as well as notable Paralympians who are expected to compete in LA28 and inspiring athletes from the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

The Zuma Beach Triathlon is produced by The Zuma Foundation, a Malibu-based nonprofit creating athletic, health and wellness initiatives and events, including triathlons for all ages. The foundation’s mission is to directly benefit Malibu’s youth-serving nonprofits focused on character development, healthy lifestyles, and mental health and wellness.
